Arriving
at Hotel Veneto Rome:
By Car - Arriving by car is possible and the hotel
has a garage. Nevertheless, because the hotel is situated
in the city center occasionally Via Veneto is closed to
traffic in which case you will have to avoid the city
center and instead arrive from the other side i.e. Piazza
Fiume. If you are arriving from the North we suggest you
take the Via Salaria which terminates at the start of
the city center. Go directly through Piazza Fiume and
take the second right Via Buoncampagni (named after the
Prince Buoncompagni Ludovosi whose two surnames have been
given to major roads in the Via Veneto area - his old
estate is now the American Embassy) Take via Boncampagni
and Via Piemonte is on your right… all the major streets
in this area are named after italy's regions so if you
see Via Toscana or Via Sardegna you know are pretty close…
By Air - Rome has two international
airports and the connections from the airport to the city
centre are excellent. Ryan air and Easjet and other chartered
flights (recently http://www.flyglobespan.com
started direct flights from Glasgow Scotland to Rome Ciampino)
tend to arrive at the smaller Ciampino airport. Ciampino
Airport is located on the Via Appia Nuova 15 km from the
centre of Rome. The airport is a short distance from Rome
City Ring Road (GRA) and from the main road system of
the North-South and East-West Motorways. Ciampino Airport
can be reached via the railway station at Anagnina with
subsequent bus connections to the Airport. NB RYAN AIR
and EASY JET provide a courtesy bus from Ciampino which
will drop you off in the city center in Via Marsala right
next to Rome's main railway station Termini - the Veneto
Hotel Rome is near Termini being only a 10 minute walk
away. From Fiumicino Airport which is where the main international
flights arrive (Fiumicino also known as Leonardo Da Vinci
airport) you are advised to take the airport shuttle train
to Termini and then either walk to the hotel or take a
taxi - be careful not to take any of the unofficial taxis
outside Termini as they will almost certainly rip you
off! |
